Comprehensive Guide to Filing Application for the BCS Examination Successfully

The prestigious BCS examination is one of the top-ranking exams in Bangladesh, offering civil service jobs under the government. In every session, a large number of aspirants vie for limited spots. To proceed with your journey, you must handle the application process. Here’s a detailed guide to help you apply effortlessly.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To initiate your application, visit the BPSC portal: www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the only portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Avoid from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Find the latest BCS exam circular under the announcements section. The circular shares necessary information, such as qualifications needed, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other relevant instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Study the conditions, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The typical age limit is between 21 and 30 years for general candidates, but adjustments may be considered for specific groups such as relatives of freedom fighters or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the online registration form (Form 1). Fill in all required fields, such as personal details, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Cross-check for any typos. Providing false information can lead to rejection.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a recent copyright-sized photograph (300x300 pixels, file size below 100kB) and your signature (300 pixels by 80 pixels, file size below 60 kilobytes). Check that these adhere to the rules mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After sending in your application, you will receive a User ID. Use this ID to settle the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually BDT 700 for general candidates and 100 taka for others. Follow the SMS format provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will be sent a confirmation SMS with a Transaction ID. Keep this ID for future reference. Revisit the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

File your application well before the deadline to bypass last-minute delays.

Print a copy of the submitted form for future use, such as for getting the admit card.

By complying with these processes, you can submit your form successfully for the BCS exam and advance toward your dream career in the Bangladesh Civil Service. Wishing you success!
